Our Team

I founded Triad in 2008, after working for several larger firms including Neuberger Berman, Deutsche Bank, Scudder Investments and Bank of America. Having gained large firm experience, I wanted to set up a smaller firm focused on providing a higher level of service to a smaller base of clients.  After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance I obtained an MBA from California State University, Long Beach. I’m also a CFA charterholder, and a member of CFA Institute and CFA Society Orange County.

My wife Tonina and I have been married 35 years.  We have two wonderful children, son Mathew (wife Jessica) and daughter Alyssa (husband Cameron).  We were blessed with our first grandchild Remi in November 2022.  I enjoy a variety of activities, including traveling, racing cars, riding off-road motorcycles, mountain biking, playing racquetball, skiing, and reading.

I joined Triad in 2013 after working at larger investment consultants and investment management firms.  In between these roles, I had founded my own investment firm in 2005 which was my favorite time as it enabled me to bring my bigger firm experience to bear for my clients.  Triad has provided me with this same opportunity to serve but with added experience and resources.

I graduated from both Macalester College and USC’s Marshall School of Business.  While at USC, I was one of a select group of students assigned to manage a small portion of the school’s endowment fund.  I am a CFA charterholder and a member of both CFA Institute and CFA Society Orange County.  I’m also a member of CalOptima Health’s Investment Advisory Committee.  My wife Brooke and I have two sons, Charlie and Tommy.

I joined Triad in 2015. Before that I held various positions at Wells Fargo Advisors, Morgan Stanley and Smith Barney assisting clients and financial advisors. Prior to that I worked in public relations. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications from California State University Northridge.

In my free time I enjoy swimming, walking, going to the gym and especially reading, belonging to 2 book clubs, one dedicated entirely to the works of William Shakespeare. I also enjoy cheering on the Los Angeles Lakers.
